What is REACH?
REACH is a new European Union (EU) Community Regulation (EC 1907/2006) relating to the safe use of chemicals and the identification of their hazards. REACH stands for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. This regulation first became effective on June 1, 2007 and requires EU companies to register their chemical substances before placing them on the EU market. Implementation of REACH will occur over the next decade.
F2 Chemicals is working on several fronts towards REACH registration/compliance, and we hope that with increased hazard information and improved exposure control for dangerous substances, there is significant improvements in public health and pollution prevention. The new European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) will administer REACH and coordinate the required activities.
