Flutec PP9 is a fully-fluorinated, odourless, colourless liquid.
Flutec PP9 has the following characteristics:-
- Compatibility with most construction materials
- Non flammable
- Excellent chemical and thermal stability
- Practically non-toxic*
Flutec PP9 finds many applications including as a fluid for testing and
cooling in the electronics industry, as a fluid for vapour phase sterilisation
of medical equipment and various energy transfer applications.
Although Flutec PP9 is considered biologically and
chemically inert, good laboratory practice should be observed when
handling. Flutec PP9 has an indefinite shelf life if properly stored
in its original sealed container.
Material safety data sheet
Flutec PP9 is commercially available in quantities of 1kg and above.

* Note: The toxicity rating used is published by Gleason, M N Gosselin,
R E and Hodge, H C (Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products, Baltimore
1963). 'Practically
Non-Toxic' is the lowest rating of toxicity and relates to
a lethal dose in man of more than 1 kg for a 70 kg (150 lb) man.
